You might be a Trail/Ultra Runner if...

Today during a 25K Trail Run, my running bud, Mitch and I began brain storming on what are the signs that a road runner might have transitioned into a trail and ultra runner.  Here is what we came up with:

  1. You daydream about Nathan products, gaters and hoka one trail shoes.
  2. You give up your subscription to Runner's World Magazine because all it ever features are road races and marathons.
  3. You have more than one pair of running shoes and keep at least one in your vehicle at all times.
  4. You know what it means to 'screw' your shoes.
  5. You can name more uses for a bandanna than a boyscout.
  6. Mud puddles make you happy.
  7. Weather doesn't matter- you are running!
  8. You can and do eat substantial food before, during and after a race.
  9. Vitamin 'I' (Ibuprofen) and anesthetic (beer) are used liberally during and after races.

And finally,  you might be a trail/ultra runner if...

  10.  Socializing is the main task at an aid station.

Got any others?  This is only the beginning!
